Context
Biotechnology company Amgen has made a big breakthrough, after developing a treatment for a mutation of non-small cell lung cancer. A quarter of patients have this mutation, known as KRAS.
Scientists have been searching for a drug to treat KRAS for decades, but now have a further challenge. In many cases, pathologists are not testing patients for this mutation, so patients are potentially missing out on a new kind of treatment.
Amgen wanted to encourage HCPs and pathologists to carry out the multiplex testing needed to identify the KRAS mutation.
Solution
We created five two-minute animations, which work as stand-alone episodes, or can be watched as a series. Each film examines the emotions of the patient, the scientific research and highlights the power that the pathologist has to positively influence the patient’s life.
Arresting, unusual and backed by a bespoke musical score to underline the pathologist’s onscreen struggle, the films are a direct representation of a pathologist’s mindset and their endeavour to provide a complete map of a patient’s biomarker status as soon as possible, for the best treatment paths to be chosen.
